Butterflies

Gwen loved butterflies. She had images of butterflies everywhere. Butterflies seemed to pop up every where with anything to do with Gwen. It's almost like Gwen is sending a message. When I began this project I needed to a note book to put all my notes in. I found an old note book I had bought a long time ago. It had a picture of a butterfly on the cover. Later as I became more involved I found out how important butterflies were to Gwen.

Gwen's mother, Sylvia, is constantly relating stories about how butterflies appear in all aspect of her life.

At the funeral 17 butterflies were released. One for each year of Gwen's life. When I was working with Sylvia on the movie she asked me if I had any film of the butterfly release. I didn't. I had put away my camera by that point and was participating in the funeral service. I felt bad that I did have the footage. I created the butterfly animations that are shown in the beginning and ending of "Isn't It Obvious?", as a reminder to the importance of butterflies in Gwen's life.
